ABOUT ME
TRAINING
I am a qualified Body Psychotherapist, registered with the UK Council for Psychotherapy (UKCP). I completed my training at Cambridge Body Psychotherapy Centre after qualifying as a Biodynamic Massage Therapist in 2012 at the London Centre for Biodynamic Psychotherapy. I am also registered with the Association of Biodynamic Massage Therapists.
EXPERIENCE
I work collaboratively and creatively with my clients and have many years' experience as a client myself, having worked with therapists from a variety of different psychotheraputic approaches including Psychodynamic, Psychoanalytic, Biodynamic and Body Psychotherapy. I have been working with psychotherapy clients since 2016. I enjoy working with imagery and encourage clients to explore and use their own creativity which I regard as a key resource in the theraputic process.
PROFESSIONAL BACKGROUND
I have 25 years' experience of working in the voluntary sector. For almost 20 years I worked for the mental health charity Mind, helping people to improve their mental and emotional wellbeing, supporting and training volunteers and delivering Mental Health Awareness workshops to organisations accross all sectors. Most recently I held a role at the Stroke Association developing peer support services for stroke survivors. In 2022 I left the voluntary sector to work full time in private practice.
INTERESTS
As a third generation holocaust survivor and second generation eastern block escapee born in London I am deeply interested in issues relating to identity, ancestry, cultural heritage, intergenerational process and inherited trauma. As a woman born in the 1970s I am interested in issues relating to sexuality, relationships, pregnancy, motherhood, childlessness, menopause, community and relationship diversity.
COUPLE AND RELATIONSHIP THERAPY
I recognise that our relationships with others play a significant role in our experience of being in the world. I am currently expanding my practice to offer therapy to couples and people in different kinds of relationships whilst continuing to work with individuals. If you are interested in coming to therapy with somebody else, please contact me to enquire.
